課程概述

NTUs BIME program is a highly interdisciplinary bioengineering program covering biosciences, mechanics, computer science, electrical engineering, integrated bio-applications, and numbers of hands-on projects. The present course "Introduction to Biological Chemistry" is designed for senior undergraduate students in BIME as well as the students who are or will be tackling bio-related research topics from other engineering or applied science disciplines. In addition to bringing in the basic concepts of biochemistry, molecular biology, and biotechnology, this course, of course, will be beneficial for everyone's health as biochemistry has become a necessary subject to learn for health care. 

課程目標
Provide engineering students an overview of biochemistry and the relevant niches in linking engineering techniques to biological applications via introduction of the following four aspects of biochemistry:
- molecules and life
- dynamic function of biomolecules
- storage and transfer of biological information
- metabolism and energy
 
課程要求
Six open-book quizzes (20%) + Midterm (40%) + Final (40%)
